Lithium batteries are advancing rapidly, and they provide longer use times than nickel and lead based batteries. Their use has been adopted as the standard for most of the spy cameras, and other electronics on the market today. Here are six tips to extend the life of your lithium-ion based electronic device.



It isn't always possible to be near an outlet to keep a charger running. A laptop is supposed to be portable. But a user may still need to be on their computer more than just 2 or 3 hours their batteries allow them. That can turn into a real problem if the person can't keep their computer running because cobalt properties its battery just died.

There are several types of battery in use at the present time and each must be treated differently. There are Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cad), Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium-ion. Ni-Cad is old technology and hence only found in ancient handsets, so I will not be covering them in this article. NiMH batteries perform much better than Ni-Cad, typically giving 30% more talk time, but Lithium are thinner and give even higher performance. I will be concentrating on lithium facts-ion as it is the most used modern mobile phone battery to date. Check which type of battery your phone has before following any of the following.

ONickel Cadmium (NiCd) - The oldest battery type used in cell phones. They are the heaviest and lowest capacity battery type. These can be somewhat hard to find.

Step 2 - Turn off your iPod and set the hold button to the on position. Take a flathead screwdriver, as thin as possible but oftentimes the retail store that sends you the battery will give you a tool. In any case you must open up the unit by lithium bettery stock putting the tool or screwdriver between the plastic and the metal. Once you sense a clip, pry it ever so gently. Continue around the iPod, opening each latch.

In terms of charging these powerful cells, when specifically used in an LED flashlight, special chargers are available all over the internet. Most will handle a 18650 battery as well as a variety of other Li-ion sizes.
